My Mother the English Teacher would tell me to parse that sentence as "...the Obama administration did not have the support of a majority of Democrats AND of a majority of Republicans in the Senate." Which is right. He had a majority of a majority of Democrats, but not of a majority of Republicans.

But as so few people any longer really understand sentence structure, what he means is a lie, even though what he says is sorta true.Don Coffinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07198988872512792834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6926413038778731189.post-47055796748525351932010-07-07T13:37:31.577-05:002010-07-07T13:37:31.577-05:00Sorry I meant UN representative not secretary .......Sorry I meant UN representative not secretary ....Litzz11@yahoo.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08843479112124843471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6926413038778731189.post-82818080966144264522010-07-07T13:36:05.612-05:002010-07-07T13:36:05.612-05:00On a related note, I don't remember the pundit...On a related note, I don't remember the punditry complaining about the hundreds of recess appointments made by George W Bush, which started early in his administration and included John Bolton for UN Secretary, who was Bush's 106th recess appointment.
