Aside from the obvious unfortunate incidents (such as the Gulf oil spill), political opponents have attempted to take advantage of the dire conditions of the country to gain political points. During the health care debate, various pieces of misinformation were flying around (such as the idea of "death panels") which made the health care plan much more difficult to sell. Similarly, after the underwear bomber incident last December, opponents used fear tactics in campaigns to gain votes. Basically, political opponents have been doing everything in their power to hinder any progress under Democratic leadership to create the perception of an ineffective government, and a lot of the time their (many times hypocritical) tactics have worked. Although the Democrats still do deserve some blame for their own condition, political opponents have really made the field difficult for Democrats, who have been unable to effectively combat many of the attacks.rj93noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6926413038778731189.post-4790070220681986742010-09-01T19:41:33.381-05:002010-09-01T19:41:33.381-05:00Why are Democrats in trouble as the 2010 midterm a...Why are Democrats in trouble as the 2010 midterm approaches?

BECAUSE THE ECONOMY SUCKS!

End of discussion.Litzz11@yahoo.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08843479112124843471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6926413038778731189.post-57103057693250272022010-09-01T10:06:22.676-05:002010-09-01T10:06:22.676-05:00The "tell" that the Obama administration...The "tell" that the Obama administration didn't have control over the political narrative came on February 10, 2010, when Timothy Geithner fumbled during his testimony before Congress. In a few short weeks "Change We Can Believe In" became "Billions for Bankers". I still can't understand why people within the administration don't seem to have figured out how badly they tarnished their brand. It's as if FDR, during his first fireside chat, had let loose a big fart.Incognitohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13419974740123262249noreply@blogger.com
