How good is baseball on the radio?
I'm a Giants fan, and I haven't lived in the Bay Area for a decade now, but mlb.com gives you every single broadcast of every single team all season long for, oh, I think it's $15 or $20, just dirt cheap. I probably listen to about a hundred games a year, and another twenty or thirty bits of games, plus a dozen or two games of other teams. The Giants happen to have a terrific broadcast crew, so that helps -- I've been lucky with local broadcast crews my whole life, and that's continued now that "local" doesn't matter any more. But I'll listen to games with lousy play-by-play guys, and it's still good.
And that's pretty much all I have tonight, for Friday baseball posting.
Maybe I'll tackle Mays/Mantle next week, or something like that. I'll take requests!
