I tweeted this earlier, but I'll do a quick post to remind everyone that whatever the whirl or rumors about this Member or that Member, or this group or that group -- and as I've said, I'm reading all of that too -- the best way to know whether health care reform is on the path to passage is to see whether the Democrats stick to their schedule. Delays and postponements are most likely signs that something is going wrong. The rest? There's just no way of knowing which "no" votes really mean it, and which threats are pure bluffs, which are playing to some constituency somewhere, and which are really trouble.
And if that's true, then the fact that the Rules Committee got started on time this morning is very good news indeed for health care reform.
