I really don't have much this week. I don't know why there are so many perfect games all of a sudden. I don't have much to say about the ump who missed the call. I'll criticize Bud Selig when he overreacts and changes the rules as part of a knee-jerk reaction to the latest controversy, but I can't really do that yet, since he hasn't done it yet.
On the Giants front, I'm obviously glad Posey is up. I don't care much that Burrell replaces Bowker on the bench. They still need a couple more hitters.
Ken Griffey was great, but I'm glad he didn't reach Mays in HRs -- and he's obviously not in the mix for Greatest CF ever (it's one of Mays, Mantle, Cobb, or Speaker, depending on how one measures it, plus some stuff about fielding we don't know). He was great, though.
I think this is where I apologize for a really lame Friday Baseball Post. Sorry!
I will say that I miss rainouts. I mean, if you're planning to go to a game, it obviously is a good thing that the modern fields drain so well and all, but I always liked that about baseball -- sometimes, it just rained, and then you got double-headers, and spot starts, and other oddities. Yes, I know, we still get some rainouts, but they're mostly gone, and I miss them.
I'll try to come up with something actually interesting next week, OK?
