David S. Bernstein speculates that Florida Senator George LeMieux may provide the needed 60th vote in favor of a key portion of the small business bill currently before the Senate. Regular readers of this blog will recall that I've been a bit obsessed about the possibility that LeMieux might be a wildcard in the Senate because of his presumed loyalty to Charlie Crist, who appointed him. However, so far at least that hasn't been the case, and in fact LeMieux endorsed regular GOP candidate Marco Rubio.
Of course, if LeMieux really wants to help Rubio, I'd suggest that he vote with the Democrats on the community loans bill...then announce that he'll vote for Elena Kagan
And then LeMieux should hold a press conference and denounce Charlie Crist for appointing a RINO to the United States Senate, and point out that Marco Rubio can be trusted to always stand up for the conservative beliefs and values that all real Floridians share, unlike Obama-loving liberals such as Crist and his stooge George LeMieux.
That's the kind of politics that I'd like to see, anyway.
