Dogs, Not Barking

1. Haiti, I think. More specifically, there was a lot of hype that the returns of Baby Doc and Aristide were going to disrupt everything there. Doesn't seem to have happened (so far, at least).

2. Recurring item, but I think it's important: coalition casualties in Afghanistan are now flat over nine months. March, pending any late adjustments, will be the third consecutive year-to-year decrease in coalition deaths (that is, March 2010 to March 2011)...In all, 106 coalition troops died in Afghanistan in the first quarter of 2011, compared with 135 in January through March 2010. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions based on even three months, but it does appear, based on nine months, that coalition casualties are at least no longer going up.

3. The Republican National Committee. Amazing the difference a little leadership can make.

4. And as always, the Fairness Doctrine.

  1. What about Darrell Issa's committee? There were supposed to be loud, public, controversial hearings, and so far, nothing, other than Issa's own chief of staff resigning.
