Happy Birthday to Willie McGee, 54.
Quickly to the good stuff:
1. Mark Blumenthal on whether the polls could be wrong, and a good roundup.
2. E.J. Graff has been looking at the marriage ballot questions.
3. And: interested in undecided voters? Then you definitely want to read what Lynn Vavreck has to say about them.

ReplyDeleteKrugman today on Protection-Racket Politics:
But are we ready to become a country in which “Nice country you got here. Shame if something were to happen to it” becomes a winning political argument? I hope not. By all means, vote for Mr. Romney if you think he offers the better policies. But arguing for Mr. Romney on the grounds that he could get things done veers dangerously close to accepting protection-racket politics, which have no place in American life.

Meanwhile, it appears that Mitch McConnell has forced the Congressional Research Service to retract a report because its conclusions don't support GOP economic theory.

The strategy behind McConnell's actions isn't so clear. Doesn't the retraction make this a slightly bigger news story than it otherwise would be, and secondly, when has the existence of an empirical report ever stopped Republicans (and compliant 'centrists') from doing what they want to do?
