Read Stuff, You Should

Happy Birthday to Candice Bergen, 67.

Some good stuff:

1. If you care about turnout, you obviously don't want to miss Michael McDonald on the demographics of the 2012 electorate.

2. Much more on 2012 and campaign effects from John Sides and Lynn Vavreck.

3. And Marc Ambinder on Benghazi.

1 comment:

  1. Ambinder's interesting, because he correctly notes that Benghazi is about derailing the Hillary 2016 steamroller, but I think he (and the liberal punditariat) is missing the mechanism.

Reduce Benghazi to its simplest equation: the cavalry didn't arrive on time, Americans died. Where was the cavalry? Somewhere else, at the prerogative of the administration. Obviously, this is not a crime, as liberals far and wide remind us. It is, however, a mistake. Potentially crippling to Hillary's WH bid.

Imagine the administration, feeling enough pressure, caves to the heat and acknowledges where the relevant assets were. Suppose it was something facially ridiculous like protecting a goat-herders convention in Tunisia. Exasperated liberals will say "happy now?" to their stinking conservative friends.

And if the conservatives can pin that ostensibly dubious decision on the SOS, the conservatives will reply, yes, we're happy now, thankyouverymuch.
