What Mattered This Week?

Not much up on a Thanksgiving week. Plus with travel and all I'm sure I missed plenty. I'm sort of tempted to go with "blue slip" obstruction breaking through into national news, but I'm not sure yet whether it matters or not....I'll be dull and just repeat one of my items from yesterday about the ACA end-of-month deadline: fixes (or failures) certainly matter to the individuals affected, but I still don't think the future of the program is at stake, or that how close is to fully functional in the next week (or even month) will have much effect on the 2014 or 2016 elections.

That's what I have. What do you have? What do you think mattered this week?

  1. Iran deal- that was this week, right?

  2. re: Iran deal, we won't know if it "Mattered" for six months. And whether it mattered in a good way or a bad way. :-(

Interesting "Nuclear Option" article in the New York Times yesterday arguing that it was necessary to protect Choice. Suggests to me that the Demos are taking a lot of heat and need to justify the move with one of their "big gun issues". Especially, since, to my cynical eye, this "news" article read much more like rally the troops talking points than actual analysis.

Seemed like somebody is attempting to get ahead of the news cycle to justify the filibuster changes, especially in preparation for the weekend talk shows.
