Today Trump even became a pseudo-birther, in an interview with ABC News, which was for some reason taking part in an extensive marketing campaign for a television show that airs on a rival network.Excellent. Also nice: the idea that the "candidacy" doesn't exist is trumpeted (sorry) in Salon's headline, subhead, and the lead. Just in case you might miss it and, like ABC News, foolishly mistake a media promotional event with a presidential campaign. Jonathan Chait was good on Trump, but Pareene nails this one.
Obligatory NewsRadio reference: Alas, Trump cannot claim, as Jimmy James did, to be Deep Throat, but D.B. Cooper is still available. Sort of.
"It's a tough one: how to you write about Donald Trump's phony candidacy without becoming part of the hype about Donald Trump's phony candidacy?"
ReplyDeleteNot tough at all: just. don't. do. it.
Well, sure, but: it's funny!
