What Mattered This Week?

Seems like a "to be continued..." kind of week. Wisconsin, the federal budget showdown, Libya: it's all stories that neither began nor really progressed in any decisive way. There was some presidential campaign stuff, but none of that struck me as even slightly important (even if Newt has a real chance, moving from one exploratory status to another really isn't a big deal, obviously).

Did anything else qualify? What do you think mattered this week?

  1. John Boehner getting down on his knees and begging Obama to bring up "entitlement reform" first. it mattered because it showed how desperate Boehner is for exactly the kind of "political cover" he was claiming to offer the President.

  2. What matters to me is the GOP vote to continue Oil company subsidies and tax breaks...
