Read Stuff, You Should

Happy Birthday to Regina King, 42.

On to the good stuff:

1. Brendan Nyhan on covering the IPAB.

2. You won't be surprised to learn that I agree with Eric Patashnik that Congress should "Bring back pork barrel spending."

3. Larry Bartels looks back on the economy and 2012.

4. I finally got around to Annie Lowrey's NYT Magazine piece on Washington; it's excellent.

5. And a good one from Jamelle Bouie on No Labels.

3 comments:

  1. How is that washington piece excellent? It seems to traffic in the same myths you like to bust.

  2. I read Lowrey's article, and I didn't think it was excellent. Then again, I certainly didn't think it warranted the vitriol being spewed at her in some corners of the internet (Read: Andrew Sullivan).

  3. Lowrey's article is about a century too late. In Edmund Morris's excellent biography of Teddy Roosevelt, there's ample mention of how even that New York blue blood found DC unliveably (sp?) expensive when he first began working for the federal government.
