Read Stuff, You Should

Happy Birthday to Dave Foley, 50.

A bit of good stuff:

1. Kevin Drum, anti-platinum coin.

2.But there's a White House petition for one now.

3. Norm Ornstein talked to Greg Sargent about the Speaker vote.

4. But Politico's Jake Sherman and John Bresnahan have the prize photo from what really wasn't much of a revolt, much less a coup.

5. And I don't really agree with John Tabin's attempt to place DS9 on a liberal/conservative scale, but I'm always up for a good appreciation of that underappreciated series.

  1. Kilgore has a good Newt catch of the day from The Hill:

Where Newt gives John Boehner advice on how to be a better speaker including this gem: "Gingrich also suggested that Boehner and President Barack Obama needed to hold more respect for one another in high-profile negotiations, citing even his often-tortured relationship with former President Bill Clinton as an example of how negotiations could proceed more efficiently."

Hey Newt is like the Weyoun of American politics, it doesn't matter how many times you kill him off, he just shows up again a few months down the line. Theirs your lame DS9 joke of the day.

  2. Sat in front of Dave Foley when we went to see Book of Mormon. Let me tell you: for my ex-Mormon, South Park-loving wife, meeting Dave Foley was an even bigger thrill.
