Read Stuff, You Should

Happy Birthday to Pete Domenici, 81. A good reminder that the Republican Party wasn't always a post-policy mess.

Good stuff:

1. Nice one on networks, discrimination, and job markets from Jonathan Capehart.

2. What about the ACA and full-time vs. part-time workers? Sarah Kliff has a pretty good explainer.

3. Ike and Obama, from Andrew Sprung.

4. Jonathan Chait is as dismayed as everyone by the Virginia Governor race, but is looking on the bright side.

5. And I suppose I'm obliged to link to this one. Without comment, if only because I haven't played the game.

3 comments:

  1. I don't know if the Watergate game is any good but the interview with the author and the parts of the game we see are hilarious.

  2. I can't figure out why the Dems and lobbyists who wrote Obamacare thought that it would be great to tie more people's health insurance to their jobs. WORST MODEL EVER. Is it for moralistic reasons or as an homage to FDRs labor market intrusions that started that whole mess?

  3. The Capehart piece is all about the daily-less-relevant black/white employment issue. If it's true that choice jobs are often shunted to coethnics, etc. could that explain the overwhelming Jewish dominance in the press, in academe, and at this blog?
